Hand block printed floral fabric from India. The best of bohemian fabric by the yard! The dyes used are natural vegetable dyes. Eco friendly. 100% cotton (60 x 60 thread count).

Slightly lighter in weight than traditional American cotton quilting fabric. If used to make curtains, it will provide privacy while letting the light through. Great for summer clothing! Also quilting, table top items, etc.

Lots of detail in this beautiful floral fabric. Black background with red/orange accents and ivory color outlines and detailing.

The fabric has undergone a long and elaborate process which includes applying resist and dying, hand printing, and setting the dye in boiling water. The fabrics been dried in between steps in the hot Indian sun. Consider it "sun kissed"!

The fabric comes with a certain "earthiness" because, after printing, it was washed in a large vat and dried outdoors in the hot sun.

You will want to wash this naturally dyed fabric before using it in a project!

For the first wash, wash (machine or by hand) separately in warm water and detergent. Do not be alarmed when the fabric releases lots of dye - this is mostly surface dye. Your print will look just as rich and colorful when dry.

For ongoing regular washing, it is best to wash separately in cold water with similar colors.
